Seeking TV Material
THE LONDON NEWS, NOVEMBER 11th 1955
On Monday a small convoy of two cars left London with three people – Stephen Wade, Noele Gordon and Pauline Tyler of Associated Television – an advance party for commercial television in the Midlands.
They have a wide brief – to explore Birmingham and the surrounding large towns for every sort of television material to find out what facilities are available for sports and light entertainment of every sort, to see how many of the great Midland industries might offer programmes and of course, above all, to talk to the people and find out what they like best and hope to see on Independent Television screens.
Their firm, Associated Television, who at present supply week-end programmes in London will be supplying Monday to Friday schedules for the Midlands.
